BANGALORE: The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) on Tuesday filed cases against two film producers with the Upparpet Police station, as part of its drive against defacement of public property.
The Assistant Executive Engineer of Gandhinagar filed an FIR against the film producer of ‘Bellary Naga’ under the Karnataka Open Places (Prevention of Disfigurement) Act.
Posters of the film had been pasted on the Shri Lakshminarasimha temple wall (near Balepet), said the release.
The drive against defacement of public property by film banners and posters has also been welcomed by Jayamala, the president of Karnataka Film Federation.
She assured that the federation would join hands and support BBMP to keep the city clean and green.
Film advertising is done through multimedia now, and therefore, the Palike should allot a particular space for film posters and banners, the expense would be borne by the Federation, Jayamala said.
