Triple murder shocks City
Bangalore, Oct 23, DHNS:

A chilling triple murder that took place here on Tuesday came to light on Friday morning. The decomposed bodies of an interior designer from West Bengal, his wife and their 10-year-old daughter were discovered at their Jayantinagar residence in Horamavu.

The body of Rahul Das (45) was found upside down in a bucket of water in the bathroom, while those of his 39-year-old wife Pushpalatha and daughter Agnesha were dumped in the bathtub.

“The murders took place on Tuesday night. The couple were murdered first and then the daughter was put to death. We have clues that Agnesha was sharpening her pencil at the time of murder.

“A jewellery box is missing from the almirah which was broken open. However, it is still unclear whether any jewellery was stolen,” police commissioner Shankar Bidari, who visited the spot, told mediapersons.

According to the police, all the three might have died of suffocation, as their mouths and noses were muffled. Rahul was running an interior designing firm, Delta System, on the first floor of the house.

Prameela, Rahul’s typist, had tried calling him on his cellphone and landline several times but there was no answer.

Alarmed, she contacted Rahul’s elder brother Dr K K Das, a professor at the Al-Ameen Medical College in Bijapur. Dr Das himself had called Rahul several times but did not get any response.

The incident came to light when he arrived here on Friday morning and informed the police.

Domestic help Shantamma last saw the family on Tuesday. She keeps the gate key and had come on Wednesday and Thursday also, but the door was locked. “I called them up but there was no response. I thought they might have gone somewhere. So, I washed the utensils kept in the compound and cleaned the floor and left,” she said.
The police are clueless about the motive behind the murder.
