Hosur Road expressway may be opened in Nov
Speculation Continues Over Inauguration Date

Bangalore: Four lanes, two in either direction, metal dividers, streetlights on each side, concrete medians painted black and white. It’s getting completed. Finally.
That’s the first impression during a test ride on the Hosur Road Elevated Expressway, which is getting ready for D-Day.
Speculation continues over the inauguration of the toll, access-controlled expressway. The latest date is some time in November. Meanwhile, work at the site continues in full swing. Work on this expressway has been under way for more than three years.
Once open, crossing this stretch connecting Central Silk Board (CSB) junction and Electronic City could take 15-20 minutes. Currently, the travel time is at least one hour during peak hours, much to inconvenience of motorists.
The Rs 765-crore (approximate) project is being executed by Bangalore Elevated Tollways Ltd as part of the National Highways Development Project and Elevated Highways Project. It was initiated in early 2006 and was expected to be completed by April 2009. Part of it is being built by Maytas Infra Ltd. It starts from Bomanahalli after the CSB flyover and goes on till Electronic City. It goes above the BMIC flyover on Hosur Road.
