Civil Defence launched

BANGALORE: Area Suraksha Mitra’s ‘Kannu Teri Bengaluru,’ an initiative of Civil Defence in association with Janaagraha, was launched at the newly inaugrated divisions #40 and #41 at the Goodwill Girls High School, Frazer Town on Sunday.
The Kannu Teri Bengaluru campaign aims to create safer neighbourhoods by utilising the power of citizens. “Good neighbours make the best defence,” said Khalid Anjum, division warden, #40.
Kannu Teri Bengaluru was set up with the objectives of channelising the efforts of Civil Defence volunteers regarding neighbourhood security and to help the police.
The campaign aims to build a trained force through a representation from every neighbourhood within the city. Applicants for area suraksha mitras can register online at www.
civildefence.areasm.org or at the Civil Defence Office.
