BANGALORE: The state government on Thursday filed an affidavit in the High Court stating that the Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Enterprises Ltd (NICE) had not taken up any construction work on the disputed Gottigere lake.
On September 24, the court had directed the state government not to allow NICE to construct the peripheral road on the land in the disputed survey number 71 of Gottigere lake area.
In view of the court order, Subir Hari Singh, principal secretary to the Industries and Commerce department, filed the affidavit saying the government had complied with the court order.
The Chief Engineer of Public Works Department also endorsed the affidavit.
The court adjourned the next hearing to October 24.
While hearing the contempt case filed by Vijayaraghavan, the HC had directed the government to stop NICE’s construction activities.
