BANGALORE: Worn out portions of the city roads after recent showers are now getting attention. The BBMP is working on filling up the potholes on the roads across all the eight zones of the Palike.

The pothole filling drive which started from the first week of October will continue for the next one week and the BBMP is confident of leaving no patch unattended.

The BBMP has identified about 7,258 potholes across the eight zones and have so far attended about 3,415 potholes.

The number of road cutting works identified is about 795 and the BBMP has attended to about 508 road cuttings so far and the remaining ones will be attended in the next week, informed BBMP sources.

The potholes are being filled in a scientific manner using two-layer filling treatment, added the official.

However, the filling of potholes depends their size and nature. To ensure regular filling up of the potholes, the BBMP will soon come up with a project wherein people who bring the Palike’s notice to potholes in their localities will be felicitated. However, nothing is finalised yet, informed BBMP sources.
