City traffic police have banned entry of all heavy motor vehicles (HMV), except buses, between Hesarghatta cross and Jalahalli cross from Monday as construction work is in progress on the connecting segments between pillars on the elevated expressway on Tumkur Road.
Deputy commissioner of police (Traffic-West) Panduranga S Rane told DNA that on the section between Hesarghatta cross and Jalahalli cross, only service roads will remain open for traffic. "The movement of heavy trucks and heavy duty vehicles will obstruct smooth movement on these service roads. So we have decided to divert the traffic on the entry point of the highway till the work on the elevated road is completed," he said.
All trucks which are going to Peenya Industrial Area (PIA) and RMC Yard from Tumkur side should enter into NICE Road. From NICE Road, they should enter into Ring Road via Magadi Road. These vehicles then will ply to the Kanteerava Studio junction to enter either RMC Yard by taking a right turn or enter PIA by taking a left turn, an official release from the police said.
Vehicles that are coming from Tumkur via NH4 (Bangalore-Tumkur Road) and moving towards Bellary Road will have to turn left at Dobaspet to enter into NH 207 to reach Doddabelavangala-Doddaballapur- Devanahalli junction to join the Bellary Road from where they need to turn left to go to Hyderabad and beyond.
In the same direction, those vehicles moving towards Old Madras Road should take a left turn from Doddabelavangala-Doddaballapur-Devanahalli junction to reach Boodigere cross from where the HMVs can turn right to reach Hosakote to enter Old Madras Road.
In the reverse direction, the heavy vehicles coming from Old Madras Road should reach Boodigere cross first and then move to Doddabelavangala-Doddaballapur-Devenahalli junction to reach Doddaballapur from where they can enter the Tumkur Road after touching Dobaspet.
The vehicles that are moving to Hosur Road from Tumkur side to go to Chennai, Hosur and Coimbatore should come to Anchepalya, from where they can enter the NICE Road and move towards Hosur Road via Electronic city to reach Hosur and further.
On the reverse direction vehicles will have to take the same route on NICE Road to reach Anchepalya to join Dobaspet to move further
