You no longer have to wait endlessly for a complaint to be attended to. BBMP needs only 24 hours to set your problem right

BBMP is crowing that in the last two weeks, all complaints registered at its control room have been addressed the same day.

This is the first time that the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike could achieve the very objective of the control room which came into existence in 2002.

"We have achieved what was thought of years ago," said Dr S Khandre, public relations officer, BBMP.

All 210 complaints ranging from mosquitoes to dog menace, were addressed promptly from June 15 to July, following commissioner Bharat Lal Meena's instructions.

"No complaints are kept pending for the next day," said Subramanya K, a control room official.

"There were complaints about mosquitoes from various places including Yelahanka and Rajarajeshwarinagar," said Subramanya.

"They were attended to immediately with necessary directions to local officers. Similarly, the cases of dog menace reported from Ramamurthinagar, Devarajeevanahalli and Malleshwaram have also been addressed."

Unattended manholes, drains and incomplete road repair works are some of the other complaints.

Up and about

BBMP officials are on their feet from 7 in the morning addressing grievances in their respective wards with Meena monitoring them through surprise visits.

Meena has visited more than 30 places in the city including major markets and low-lying areas from where calls are frequent.

Bangaloreans are pleasantly surprised by the change.

"We complained about street lights not being switched off till late in the day. The call was immediately attended to and streetlights were put on at 6 pm and we have been promised that they will be switched off at 6 am. We are happy that officials are acting so fast," said Habib, a resident of Madhinanagar who complained yesterday.
