Bangalore: “There is more to come.” That is what an elated B S Yeddyurappa said on Friday at his first public function after the elections. The government will be a year old on May 30. “The next four years will see us focus on water and power projects,” the CM added.
With projects worth Rs 7,376 crore initiated in the first year, the challenge was to complete them on time and initiate more, he said. On the priority list are shifting of the race course by December, developing 12 lakes, four new hospitals, a signal-free Ring Road with 62 underpasses (work on all of them will be initiated simultaneously) and effective monsoon preparation.
Bangalore South MP Ananth Kumar said the city needs a separate power plant. “Power infrastructure is essential for a growing city. Much of it is related to pumping water into the city. We need at least a 5,000-MW plant just for Bangalore,” he said.

It is 452 metres long and has two approaches — 124 metres towards Tumkur Road and 77 towards C V Raman Road. It has four bi-directional lanes. Transport minister R Ashok said the flyover will also be connected to the new bus stand adjacent to it.
