If the swelteringheat has been making you hot under the collar, here is some relief.
The city witnessed a mild drizzle on Monday evening providing the much needed respite to people in Bengaluru. The Met department had earlier said that rain was likely in the next 24 hours and this may cool the city at least for a few days.

A. Muthachami, director, IMD Bengaluru, said that a trough of low pressure which was active in the South West bay between Tamil Nadu and Sri Lanka coast has been moving towards the north since Monday.

“This is the reason why the city has got a cloud cover and light rain is expected over Bengaluru in the next 24 hours,’’ Mr Muthachami explained. The maximum temperature which had touched about 33 degree celsius last week is expected to fall by a minimum of three degrees. “The maximum temperature in the city is around 33 degree celsius and it might come down further depending on the cloud cover and precipitation,’’ Mr Muthachami said, adding that the next shower which is expected during the end of March or beginning of April will be heavy in nature.

“Rain coupled with thunderstorms are expected during the first week of April,’’ the Met officer added.
