BANGALORE: No casualties were reported when two floors of a multistoreyed building, Raheja Paramount, located on Richmond Road, were gutted in a fire accident on Thursday morning. A few electronic goods, furniture and documents got charred in the accident though.

The incident occurred about 9.30 am on the seventh floor of the eight-storied building. According to fire and emergency staff, fire broke out when the office boy switched on the UPS and a short circuit took place in the building that is owned by V G Siddhartha, son-inlaw of former chief minister S M Krishna.

The fire was finally reined in by ten fire brigades. Since the accident occurred in the early morning the staff was not present in the office, the police said. The accident also added to the traffic woes of Richmond town.
