Cultural tinge to Kadlekayi Parishe

Kadlekayi Parishe, a fair known for its groundnut flavour will acquire a cultural tinge beginning this year. The two-day fair, is scheduled to commence from Nov 24.


Disclosing the new hue that one of the oldest traditional event of Bangalore will acquire this year, Basavanagudi MLA Ravi Subramanya told press persons here on Friday that the cultural programmes to be organised on the occasion will reflect the history and culture of the State.

Programmes will also be held at Kahalebande, Kohinoor, Madduramma Temple grounds, Narasimha Swamy Temple Park at Kathriguppe and Yediyur lake.

The MLA disclosed that Venkatesh and party will present a musical programme accompanied with dance performance by Surya, on the inaugural day.

Noted singer C Ashwath will present “Kannadave Sathya” on the concluding day at Kohinoor grounds.
Makeshift camps will be erected for farmers coming from rural areas to take part in the fair. Groundnut delicacies will be sold at Manjunath Kalyana Mantapa.

Mr Ravisubramanya said cultural festivals of Bangalore will be revived.
