Even as amateur photographers were swarming at the National Flower Show in Lalbagh here to capture the colourful moments on to the lens, people were using their mobile phones to click as many pictures as possible.
The fourth National Flower Show at the Lalbagh began on Saturday showcasing the pompous variety of flowers and is based on the theme reflecting the beauty of the heritage city Hampi. Exotic flowers were displayed and arranged in an eye-catching manner which were the crowd puller on the first day of the national flower show itself.
Talking at the inauguration, R Ashok, Minister for Transport, said, “The flower show is very beautiful and rejuvenating. People can relax at places like these as the atmosphere here will soothe all kinds of tension.”
Minister for Horticulture, S K Bellubbi was also present on the occasion.

Talking about the flower show, Sharada KV, 36, central government employee, said, “I enjoyed the flower show and the theme of Hampi, the historic city is a delight to watch. I have been regularly visiting the flower show for the last three years. My children simply adore the flower show and the exhibition about organic farming is very informative.”
Another visitor, Laxminarayan, 50, said that flower shows are absolute must for people.
“Flower shows de-stress people. With hectic schedules and busy lifestyle, people do not get time to rejuvenate themselves. These shows are relaxing and it gives quality time for families. The flower show is very beautiful and the historic theme of Hampi is really worth visiting the Glass house,” pointed Laxminarayan.
The Horticulture Ministry under the National Horticulture Mission has explicitly exhibited the importance of organic farming. Medicinal plants, flowering plants, bonsai and other varieties of plants have also been put up for sale and the flower show is on till August 17.
