RAIN DISRUPTS TRAFFIC IN THE CITY

Traffic situation in most parts of the City worsened for few hours on Wednesday night, due to heavy showers. Situation changed suddenly in the late evening, as it started to rain heavily. A portion of a small canal collapsed in Viveknagar around 8 pm blocking the road. The vehicles were stranded on the road. Rain water which overflew on road hampered traffic flow for sometime near Kino theatre in Sheshadripuram. While in City Market, Chickpet, Upparpet and its surrounding areas, jam was due to hundreds of customers who thronged the market to purchase various commodities for the Varamahalakshmi festival.
