BANGALORE: Deccan Skylimo, the country’s first air chopper service, which commenced charter flights between the city centres and Bengaluru International Airport (BIA) a month ago, has been wellreceived by the public. The Deccan Skylimo service between BIA and various points in the city (HAL, Whitefield and Electronic City) has been ferrying the corporate head honchos and foreign tourists. The service provided by Deccan Aviation currently operates 2 to 3 sorties per day."The clientele we fly are Corporate CEO, MDs, directors and their foreign clients visiting Bangalore and also high profile doctors visiting hospitals in Electronic city," Deccan Aviation, General Manager- Marketing Clive Lewis told to this website's newspaper.

The company which has a fleet of helicopters and fixed wing aircraft dedicated largely to tourism, corporate travel, medical evacuation, banner towing and aerial reconnaissance is also planning to add another centre from where it can operate. The service from the Palace Grounds on Bellary Road will be added to the list.

Deccan Aviation which has a Bell 2006 Jet Ranger to ferry passengers between the city centres and the BIA, plans to add additional helicopters with a larger seating capacity once the demand increases.

To avail of the Skylimo service, a passenger will have to shell out Rs 4800 to Rs 5800 per trip.
