Bangalore: The Karnataka government decided to constitute a House committee to examine facilities at the Bengaluru International Airport (BIA) as legislators feel they are far below expectations.
The issue was raised by Congress MLA D K Shiva Kumar in the legislative assembly on July 31. He described the BIA as a “shed’’.
Taking serious note of the observations made, infrastructure minister G Janardhan Reddy said: “Whatever has been said of BIA is true. A House committee will probe whether BIAL has adhered to the original agreement on providing facilities, what should be done to bring the airport on a par with others, and whether there have been any violations.’’
