Easy drive
The BBMP/BDA project to ensure uninterrupted traffic flow on the Outer Ring Road is in its mid-level of completion. Of the 30 junctions on the 62.5-km stretch,
five grade separators have been built and eight more are under construction by the BBMP and BDA. Plans are on for the other 17 junctions. The estimated cost is Rs 500 crore.
PWD PROJECTS
Decongestion drive
The Public Works Department (PWD) is nearing completion of the first phase of its project to decongest traffic in and around Bangalore. Forty-six roads were
identified for improvement, on a budget of Rs 996 crore. The project, covering more than 1,000 km of roads, will be completed by December this year.
The department is clearing the decks for the second phase of the project, under which 26 roads have been identified. Estimated at a budget of Rs 1,200 crore, the second phase will cover 328 km of roads.
