BETL Update

HOSUR ROAD ELEVATED EXPRESSWAY
SIX MONTHS TO GO
The Hosur Road elevated expressway was to be completed this month. But as TOI reported earlier, the project has been delayed by six months and is now expected to be complete in January.
Almost all the piers are up, but about 50% of the spans (the superstructure between the piers) remains to be completed. “Our entire focus is on the superstructure work now. About 116 spans are yet to be done, and we are doing about 20 spans a month. So we should be able to
finish the work in six months,” said an official of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), which is building the project. He said work such as lighting and asphalting of the elevated section will happen simultaneously. Pedestrian underpasses, too, have been delayed. NHAI says those at Kudlu and Singasandra junctions will be opened very soon. The one in GB Palya is nearing completion, while the Bommanahalli underpass will take some more time. The entire section of the existing lower road, including the service roads, will also be re-asphalted by January, NHAI said.
