Post-rain, BDA sets up control room
Bangalore, DHNS:

The Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) has set up a control room at its head office on T Chowdiah Road, Kumara Park West to help citizens affected by floods and rain related problems. This follows heavy rains that lashed the City on Sunday.

The control room will be manned round the clock and supervised by an assistant executive engineer. Aggrieved residents can call the control room at 23464064 or call the following officers - EO T D Nanjundappa on 9845630128, EE (East) Rajashekhar on 9880730449, EE (West) Nagaraj Murthy on 9945539597, EE (North) Subramanya on 9945604475 and EE (South) Srinivasarao on 9845630122.

Pleasant weather

Bangalore received 4.4 cm rain on Sunday. On Monday, weather was pleasant and the City did not receive any rains. “The scene is likely to be the same on Tuesday and it will have rains from Wednesday,” the incharge Met Department said.

Ministers inspect

Ministers Suresh Kumar and R Ashok and MLAs Satish Reddy and Ramalinga Reddy inspected the storm-water drainage works at Bandappa Colony, Silk Board Junction, Puttenahalli, Bhadrappa Layout and RMV Layout.

12 trees down

Rains that lashed the City on Sunday resulted in 12 trees falling. Indiranagar, Basavanagudi, RMV Layout II phase and Nandini Layout were the worst affected. BBMP control room, which received complaints on the tree fall, immediately sent workers who removed the fallen trees.

Madhu (10) and Nagaraj (30), who sustained injuries after a tree fell on a house, were shifted to a hospital.
