BANGALORE: The Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) on Thursday initiated a tree plantation programme at the BDA Employees’ Layout at Doddakallasandra.
BDA Commissioner Siddhaiah said that special care would be taken to restore greenery and lakes while forming new layouts. Finances can be better maintained if citizens opt for rainwater harvesting and usage of solar energy for daily dependence on water and electricity.
MLA M Krishnappa said that awareness should be created among residents regarding saving natural resources. He urged the BDA to adopt Avalahalli Lake and restore it.
All new layouts formed by the development agency will focus on maintaining lung spaces with dedicated cycle lanes for cleaner and greener layouts, he said.
