Mob attacks BPO firm’s bus after accident

Bangalore: Irate mob attempted to set a bus on fire, which was transporting the employees of a multinational business process outsourcing (BPO) firm, after it rammed a two-wheeler and injured the rider, at Tilak Nagar Main Road-Bannerghatta Road junction on Wednesday morning.

The incident took place at the junction when the bus hit the two-wheeler around 6.15 a.m.

The police said that the two-wheeler rider Ramzan Ali, a resident of Tilak Nagar, near Krishnappa Garden who was injured in the incident was treated at a nearby private hospital.

The police said the bus was going to Gottigere from the Dairy Circle when it hit the vehicle of Ramzan Ali when it was stationary.

Angered by the incident, public gathered at the spot and attempted to set the bus on fire.

While the bus was damaged in a stone throwing incident, the police who arrived at the spot, prevented any further damage.

MICO Layout traffic police have arrested the bus driver Lakshminarasimhaiah and registered a case in this connection.

In another incident, a 55-year-old businessman was killed on the spot when a school bus belonging to Chethana Nursing School hit a two-wheeler on Bangalore-Tumkur Road near Central Manufacturing Technology Institute in Yeshwanthapur Traffic Police Station limits on Tuesday.

The police said the victim has been identified as Shankar Rao, a resident of Muthyalanagar.

Yeshwanthapura traffic police have arrested the bus driver Dharmappa and registered a case.
