Konasandra Lake to be rejuvenated

Bangalore: The BDA will acquire nearly 28 acres to connect Mysore Road; Banashankari 6th Stage, 10th Block and 100 Feet Road. The deputy conservator of forests will be asked to demarcate the boundaries and take steps to rejuvenate Konasandra Lake, abutting 10th Block.
BDA commissioner Siddaiah, who inspected road works, drainage, UGD facilities, electrical connections and drinking water facilities at Banashankari 6th Stage and Anjanapura Layout on Thursday, ordered the officers to expedite works so that site allottees can begin construction.
All roads of 100 feet, 80 feet and 60 feet width have been tarred and sewage, drainage and electrical facilities provided. The development of BSK 6th Stage cost Rs 125 crore. Approval has been sanctioned for metalling and asphalting of internal roads at a cost of Rs 25 crores. Tenders will be called for these works, which are scheduled to be completed by Decemberend.
Land of two acres has been selected for a sewage treatment plant. The preliminary notification has been issued and acquisition proceedings will be expedited.
Siddaiah inspected road works in Anjanapura Layout and said the final notification was issued for land on which a sewage treatment plant will come up. He suggested fencing around quarries and rainwater harvesting facilities on 18 acres.
The commissioner took serious note of unsanctioned construction by a private institution on a two-and-a-halfacre CA site at Banashankari 2nd Stage, 18th Main Road. He asked the law department to get the stay on BDA properties at JP Nagar, NS Palya and Jayanagar vacated.
The commissioner was accompanied by P N Nayak, engineer-member; Dhananjay Reddy, town planner; M V Amarnath, DCF; Srinivas Rao, executive engineer (South) and others.
