Former MLA and Kannada activist Vatal Nagaraj said: "We have received support from about 300 groups who have agreed to stand by us against the injustice meted out to Kannadigas by observing the bandh on April 10. We will not allow the project to go on."

Akhila Karnataka Gadi Horata Samiti and other pro-Kannada forums called for a state-wide bandh on April 10.

"The bandh will be peaceful and will be observed between 6 am and 6 pm. Hence, we request more groups, political parties to come forward and support us in this initiative.
