BANGALORE: The newly built underpass at Cauvery junction will be thrown open to traffic on Wednesday without much fanfare, thanks to protocol requirements.

Sources said that arranging for a formal inaugural ceremony in the presence of the Governor would require a week’s notice as protocol required to be followed.

The BBMP, which on Monday completed the work on the underpass, decided to open it to the public on Wednesday after knocking down the road divider to allow vehicles to take a U-turn in front of National Tuberculosis Institute on Bellary Road.
