Traffic snarls for 10 more days

Traffic snarls for 10 more days
Bangalore: Expect more traffic snarls and jams for another 10 days, as the Hebbal road grid will be choked. The underpass work at Cauvery junction which was scheduled to be completed on Saturday will be delayed further.
Ramanathan a resident of Sankey Road said: “We were hoping that the work will be completed by Saturday. But there is no sign of work getting over even after 10 days. There is no co-ordination between the BBMP and BWSSB. The public have been taken for a ride.’’
Unless the magic box at Cauvery junction is completed, residents cannot take out their vehicles, he said.
Manish Giriya, director of a consumer goods outlet, said his business in the Sadashivanagar branch has been hit.
“There has hardly been any business in the last three days. If the underpass work is delayed for 10 more days, we will incur losses running into crores. We have had no power supply for the last four days,’’ Manish rued.
The traffic diversion has been affecting residents of Sadashivnagar and surrounding areas.
“We are facing difficulty in reaching office on time due to the diversions,” said Sunil Rao, a regular user of Sankey road. A ruptured BWSSB waterline has forced the BBMP to extend the work deadline by 10 more days.
