Innovations abound in this Film City
Bangalore, dhns:
The Rs 500-crore project will be fully operational in April.

A true-to-life statue of Dr Rajkumar occupies pride of place at the magnificent Louis Taussad Wax Museum. Giving him company are wax statues of Leonardo Da Vinci drawing a portrait of a seated Mona Lisa, Lady Diana, William Shakespeare, Adolf Hitler and Mahatma Gandhi.

These amazing depictions are just some the many alluring aspects of the exotic multi-crore Innovative Film City, located on 50 acres on the Bangalore–Mysore highway near Bidadi, the first phase of which was inaugurated on Thursday. The Rs 500-crore project will be fully operational in April.

The world famous Ripleys Believe It or Not! Museum is another destination. Extraordinary yet bizarre collectibles from around the world are showcased here. You could also spot the age-old ‘Fertility statues’ from Africa. Myth has it that childless women worship these images and became pregnant soon after! Mounts of animals with multiple limbs, dinosaur eggs, portrait on the body of a housefly, a piece of a meteorite from Mars, canes with binoculars, ...the list of wacky items runs to over 500 items.

Among other unique features in the Film City will be Funplex with simulated items from China. A fighter aircraft simulator, grenade launcher, football with a goalie, a jungle safari, and fast race will the attractions here.

The Dino World with the Dino Park and Fossil Museum transports you to the world of dinosaurs. Eighteen animatronics have been imported from Belarus. Sensors monitor the footsteps of visitors and activate the ‘animals’ into motion mode. Over 80 casts from original fossils of dinosaurs have been brought from the US.
The 21-screen multiplex with 4-D theatres promises to be the biggest in Asia. Adding experience to imagery on the screen, visitors could even feel water falling or a snake spewing venom.

A unique semi-circular wave pool, a beach with soft sand to hold parties, watch tower with African drums below, a go-karting zone, a mini golf course and excellent food are also on the cards.

The Film City will have provisions for an exclusive helipad. The minimum entry ticket is priced Rs 50 and tickets have to be purchased separately for each section ranging between Rs 50 and Rs 150.
