Protests spare traffic flow
TIMES NEWS NETWORK
Bangalore: Though there were three protests in the city on Friday, traffic flow was not badly affected.
With around 90% of autorickshaws off the roads, traffic on most arterial roads was fast and smooth. As a precautionary measure, traffic police diverted traffic from the route of the protests. The major rally organised by the Rajya Raitha Sangha was stopped at Basaveshwara Circle and traffic was allowed to move from both sides. Raj Bhavan Road was blocked for a few minutes around noon. Roads leading to Palace Grounds from the City Railway Station were blocked for ten minutes. Traffic towards Anand Rao Circle was diverted for about 10 minutes as the rally passed on the flyover to reach Sheshadri Road.
Traffic police acted swiftly and restored quickly.
The protest at Shivajinagar by Karnataka Rakshana Vedike too ended without disrupting traffic. Autorickshaw drivers did not block any roads.
