KRV activists disrupt rly selection process
DH News Service,Bangalore:
Members of Karnataka Rakshana Vedike (KRV) on Monday tried to disrupt selection process for recruitment Group-D employees in South Western Railways at Yeshwanthpur, and tried to block trains.

For the fifth consecutive day, KRV members continued their agitation stating the Railways are giving more importance to north Indians at the cost of Kannadigas.
They staged a demonstration at the railway stadium at Yeshawanthpur, where the selection process for Group-D employees is on. Agitations were held at Jalahalli railway station, where around 50 KRV members courted arrest.
In the evening, KRV activists led by Narayan Gowda, Kannada Sahitya Parishat president Champa, former MLA Mukhyamantri Chandu and Karnataka Raitha Sangha President Kodahalli Chandrashekhar staged a rally in this regard.
Oscar gheraoed
Union minister Oscar Fernandes, who was gheraoed by KRV activists, assured he would take up the issue with Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav, adding that he was aware of discrepancies in railway recruitment.
Ferdnandes’ assurance came after he was gheraoed by Vedike activists at a function organised by Savitha Samaj here. Soon after the function, Mr Fernandes, along with his wife, was heading towards his car. While he was speaking to reporters, activists holding black flags surrounded his car.
While JD(S) has extended its support to the protest, BJP has demanded that Railways immediately stop the recruitment process and give reservation to Kannadigas.
