Find lasting solution to city’s woes response

Find lasting solution to city’s woes response

In response to the Public eye feature on infrastructure projects, S. Kavitha of Nagarbhavi says, “Bangalore is experiencing an insatiable demand for growth of infrastructure. Sometimes it makes one wonder whether our expectations cross the limit.” Is Bangalore growing at the cost of other regions in our State, she wonders. Concentrating growth in Bangalore alone has been causing multiple problems to the administration in not able to provide basic amenities to the people to lead a dignified life.

Be it supply of water, law and order problem, traffic congestions, pollution, etc. The growth beyond the control of administration has given scope for many unauthorised constructions.

Constructing more and more flyovers and grade separators will only treat the symptoms rather than the disease. It cannot provide a lasting solution. The more the roads are built the very next day few more vehicles get registered and start plying on it.

It is time our planners put their agenda of development of other backward regions into action, so that we could save Bangalore regain its glory as a Garden city, she adds.
