BANGALORE: There's a nip in the air, aggravated by incessant drizzle. As Christmas and New Year are around the corner, the mood change in weather is not unexpected, the Met office says.
The weatherman has advised citizens to carry their windcheaters, umbrellas or any weapon against rain and wind for a couple of more days.
The cause: A low trough wave in the southwest Bay and Easterlies over Tamil Nadu coast moving westwards, left Bangalore under a blanket of cloud. Meteorologist B Puttanna says: Moisture in the air has given the weather that extra nip.
Moderate rain and thundershowers expected over Southern interior Karnataka, a few places over coastal Karnataka and isolated places in North interior Karnataka.
MB Rajegowda, professor Agro-Meteorology University of Agricultural Sciences: High altitude winds from South China have contributed to the chill. This, coupled with heavy wind, is making the city shiver.
