Train to M'lore on time
Bangalore, dhns:
Reservation for the Bangalore-Mangalore Express (train nos 6517/6518) would begin on Saturday.

In yet another confirmation that all roadblocks to the Bangalore-Mangalore express train have been cleared, the much-awaited train on Friday made it to the railway online reservation system.

Reservation for the Bangalore-Mangalore Express (train nos 6517/6518) would begin on Saturday. Confirming the listing, Additional Divisional Railway Manager Deepak Chhabra said the train is slated to start on December 8 and Railway Minister Lalu Prasad will flag it off at Mangalore.

The train (6517) will leave Yeshwantpur at 8:35 pm and reach Mangalore the next day at 8:05 am. The return train (6518) will leave Mangalore at 7:45 pm and reach Yeshwantpur the next day at 7:40 am. Meanwhile, Mangaloreans have demanded that the Railway authorities should reduce the running time of the train.

Residents of Mangalore said despite the poor condition of the road on the Shiradi Ghat section, buses take nine hours to reach Mangalore. The train can be accelerated on the Hassan-Bangalore and Sakaleshpur-Mangalore sections to make up for the slow journey on the Kukke Subramanya-Sakaleshpur sector, they pointed out.
