Promoted by E-City Ventures, the multiplex is located right atop the Sigma Mall on Cunningham Road.

Built over an area of 33,000 sq ft, Fun Cinemas is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and three-way surround sound system, explained E-City Ventures chief executive officer Atul Goel to presspersons here on Thursday.

As an introductory offer, the silver class tickets will be priced at Rs. 100 and the gold class for Rs. 120.

For Fun Cinemas, Bangalore is the 15th destination, having set up multiplex screens and single screens in Delhi, Lucknow, Panipet, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Agra and Gulbarga.

“Besides Bangalore, we are planning to enter cities like Kolkata, Gwalior, Indore, Ambala, Kota, Hyderabad and Baroda,” said Fun Cinemas chief operating officer Vishal Kapur. While countrywide, Fun Cinemas has a ratio of 20 per cent English films and 80 per cent Hindi, regional films language films will take up almost 30 per cent of the content on the three Bangalore screens. The remaining 70 per cent will be a combination of Hindi and English films. By 2011, E-City Ventures (ECV) has proposed to operate 1,500 screens nationwide.

Three hundred of these screens will be premium multiplex while 250 will be value cinema multiplex and single screen refurbishments. Digital screens will make up the remaining thousand.
