Consultant for monorail by next month, says CM

Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy said The process of appointing a consultant to advise on implementing monorail project in Bangalore will be completed next month.

The process of appointing a consultant to advise on implementing monorail project in Bangalore will be completed next month, Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy said in the Legislative Assembly on Tuesday.

Replying to a question by Dinesh Gundu Rao (Congress) during question hour, he said the Government has shortlisted two out of five private bidders.

He said the monorail project will be implemented under private-public partnership.

The Government has proposed to link monorail as a feeder channel to the Metro Rail from four different sides of the City’s outskirts - from Kanakapura Road to Mysore Road via Outer Ring Road, Bannerghatta National Park to Adugodi, Mysore Road to Tumkur Road via Ring Road and Magadi Road to Toll Gate, Tumkur Road to Bellary Road on Outer Ring Road, he said. On road and Metro Rail link to international airport from the City, he said the Government has already begun work on building a new link road to the airport. The possibility of connecting Metro Rail to the airport is being examined. The CM said Metro Rail project will be completed as per schedule.
