Heavy rain drenches city
TIMES NEWS NETWORK

Bangalore: On a quiet Sunday night, the skies burst open to unleash the full fury of the first spell of monsoon rain. Except for those living in low-lying areas, heavy rain brought relief to Bangaloreans.
The rain that started after 10 pm did bring down the heat. Waterlogging of the roads did not create any gridlocks as traffic was thin on a holiday.
A tree fell on Jayamahal I Main road due to the rain, but the BBMP men cleared the tree immediately.
Some of the affected areas were Mathikere, Jayamahal and Shivajinagar. BBMP Control Room received waterlogging and flooding complaints from Banasawadi, HBR Layout, Kamakya Layout, Banashankari and Ittamadu.
The meteorological department has predicted that Monday will be partly cloudy with thundery conditions towards evening and night.
The city on Monday will witness a maximum of about 33 degrees Celsius with a humidity of over 40%, Met sources said.
