Bidadi film city to go whacky

Bidadi film city to go whacky
DH News Service, Bangalore:
Ripley's would set up the Louis Tussauds wax museum apart from Ripley's Believe It Or Not and Guinness World Records museums at the Film City in Bidadi.

A wax studio will become a reality in namma Bengalooru with Ripley Entertainment Inc announcing its maiden entry into South East Asia via Bangalore, in collaboration with Innovative Film City.
Announcing this at a press conference here, Sarvana Prasad, Chairman and Managing Director of Innovative Film City and Robert E Masterson, President, Ripley Entertainment Inc, Orlando, said Ripley’s would introduce the Louis Tussaud’s wax museum apart from Ripley’s Believe It Or Not and Guinness World Records museums at the Film City in Bidadi. Speaking about the wax museum, Mr Masterson said the Louis Tussauds wax museum is not the same as the Madame Tussauds wax museum.
The original Louis Tussaud’s museum opened in Niagara falls, Canada in the mid-1950s and has since closed. However the museum in Copenhagen, Denmark, which opened in 1974 still attracts a huge crowd, Mr Masterson said.
He said wax statues of both Indian and international stars would be on display. He added that the entry to all the attractions would be priced at $1 dollar each (Rs 50 approximately).
The Ripley’s Believe It Or Not museum would showcase a collection of weird and wacky facts from across the world, while the Guinness World Records museum intends to bring world records to life. Mr Masterson said the Guinness World Records museum would also act as a communication point and both Indian and international records would be on display.
He said the maximum number of Guinness record holders are from India. The largest litigation pertaining to the records are also from India, he pointed out. Mr Prasad, while announcing that the Innovative Film City will be completed by December 2007, said a tree plantation project has been initiated and 15,000 saplings have been planted.
