Road-widening gets govt nod

Bangalore: The government on Thursday gave approval to the BBMP for tendering roadwidening work on Palace Road, Race Course Road, Sheshadri Road and Kasturba Road.
Discussing the blueprint for the works, commissioner K Jairaj directed engineers to go in for a plan to avoid felling of trees. “It is ideal if we can retain as many trees possible by aligning road dividers in line with trees. We want to create dedicated lanes for two and three-wheelers,’’ said Jairaj. A meeting of officials concerned with road widening has been called to discuss the revised blueprint on April 16. TNN
