BANGALORE: Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) Chief Executive Officer Albert Brunner has appealed to the State Government to consider offering a special entry tax exemption for the greenfield project coming up near Devanahalli, 35-kilometres from Bangalore.

Talking to mediapersons after a meeting with deputy chief minister B S Yediyurappa, Brunner said that the Government was likely to take a decision in this regard soon.

However, BIAL had already earmarked Rs 77 crore contingency fund for the purpose, he added saying that the special entry tax would amount to about Rs 40 crore. He said that the project was progressing well and would be completed in December.

By April next year, international flights would land at the new international airport, he added.
