BANGALORE: The Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) will throw open for public use the fourth loop of the Airport Road grade-separator on Thursday evening. The fourth loop connects Indiranagar to M G Road, and will be declared open for public use by BDA Commissioner M K Shankaralinge Gowda.

Second and third loops, connecting Koramangala to Airport Road, and M G Road to Koramangala have already been thrown open. The first loop which connects Airport Road to Indiranagar will be opened shortly, BDA officials said.

According to the officials, the traffic along the axis of Airport Road and Intermediate Ring Road at the junction is 2,177 passenger car units (PCU) and 4,423 PCU during peak hours, which constitutes 59.13% of the total volume of the flow at the junction.

After the completion of all the four loops, the Airport Road and Intermediate Ring Road (IRR) junction will become signal free. The BDA has made all left turns free by providing grade level bridges and roads and widening the existing roads.
