Police have banned entry of all vehicles, including the BMTC buses, towards Shivajinagar Bus Station from Friday (Jan 19) afternoon in view of a public meeting at Tusker Town Playgrounds to condemn the execution of Saddam Hussein.

The City police have banned entry of all types of vehicles, including the BMTC buses, towards Shivajinagar Bus Station from Balekundri Circle from Friday (Jan 19) afternoon in view of a public meeting organised at Tusker Town Playgrounds in Shivajinagar to condemn the execution of former Iraqi president Saddam Hussein.

Following the restriction, the BMTC buses will not be entering Shivajinagar Bus Station between 12 noon and 10 pm. The police have earmarked following places for the BMTC buses to pickup and drop passengers.

Buses going towards Jayanagar, K H Road, Hosur Road, Koramangala and Bannerghatta will be parked between BRV junction and CTO Circle on Cubbon Road; buses plying towards Ulsoor, Old Madras Road, Domlur, KR Puram, Marathhalli, Whitefield, Kadugodi and Hoskote will be parked between Kamaraj Road Junction and Manipal Centre Junction on Cubbon Road; buses towards KG Bus Station, Vijayanagar, Malleswaram, Rajajinagar, KR Market and Mysore Road will be parked on Dr B R Ambedkar Veedhi, in front of High Court; Buses plying on JC Nagar, RT Nagar, Yeshwanthpur, Peenya, Hebbal, Yelahanka, Jalahalli, Tannery Road, Nagawara, Banaswadi, Lingarajpuram, Ramamurthynagar routes will start from the junction between Balekundri Circle and Thimmaiah Junction on Queen’s Road. With over 50,000 people expected to participate in the protest rally organised by the People’s Front, the police have permitted parking at parking lots on Kamaraj Road, Main Guard Cross Road, in front of Safina Plaza on Infantry Road, Kings Road, Jasma Bhavan Road and inside Cubbon Park.
