Winter seems to have set in and Bangaloreans are now feeling the chill. Lower temperatures coupled with high wind speeds are making the mornings nippy.
According to Meteorological Department sources, minimum temperature in the City was 16.1 deg C on Friday, while on Thursday it was 17 deg C. Dr Anand Koppar, Director, Meteorological Department says, “It is just the beginning of winter. There will be fluctuations in the minimum temperature for a certain period. Later, by the month of January, the coldest month, it may go down to 11 deg C or 12 deg C.”
Professor M P Rajegowda of Agrometeorology department, UAS, says because of lower temperature, atmospheric water vapour condenses to create fog during early hours of the day. This weather will prevail till mid-February. However rains are not expected in the season as cyclones are not seen in the Bay of Bengal region.
