BANGALORE: Bengalooru Habba, which will commence on December 3, has added more colour to the cultural extravaganza by joining hands with the Karnataka State Government to include ‘‘Suvarna Karnatakakke Belli Habbada Samskruti Baagina’’ -- a folk, film and light classical festival.

Speaking on reporters, secretary of Kannada Culture, Information and Tourism Department I M Vittal Murthy said, ‘‘The Habba showcases musical performances and other cultural events by renowned artistes and the winners of the Doordarshan’s programme ‘Nityotsava.’’

IDL Blind Band would perform, he added.

Other programmes include Janapada Sangeeta by J Siddaraju and the finale will see ‘Belli Paradeya Chinnada Haadugalu’-- an extravaganza of golden classics of silver screen.

The event is jointly organised by Artiste’s Foundation for the Arts and Airtel. The programmes will be spread out at various venues like Ravindra Kalakshetra, Samsa auditorium, Nayana auditorium, and Town Hall.

Formal inauguration will be held at Ravindra Kalakshetra on December 3 at 6.30 pm.

There will be a vocal performance by M S Sheila and Bharatanatyam by Lakshmi Gopalaswamy on the inaugural day.
