Marathahalli railway overbridge: Some progress here

JANUARY-END IS THE DEADLINE: The new threelane railway overbridge at Marathahalli has made some progress. The portion, directly above the railway line, has not yet been done on account of delay in approvals by the Indian Railways. BDA commissioner M K Shankarlinge Gowda said the issue was recently sorted out and he now expects the entire three-lane section to be complete by January-end. Once that is done, the existing bridge will be demolished and another threelane bridge will be constructed in its place. The tender for this project has been approved. The BDA commissioner said the second bridge may be completed by March. The existing narrow bridge at Marathahalli, which connects to Whitefield, is a major traffic bottleneck today.
