Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) has commenced earthworks for rapid exits at the taxi way of the upcoming international airport in Devanahalli. The October update on work at the airport has also registered commencement of earthworks for the additional apron works.

BIAL has also commenced the structural concreting works for the airport’s sewage treatment plant. At the terminal building, close to 18 per cent of the roof element work has been completed, according to BIAL sources. Meanwhile, concreting work on slabs on the ground floor, first floor and columns above ground floor continued.

Masonry, plastering, plumbing and sanitation works were on as well.


At the Air Traffic Control (ATC) tower, concreting of the shaft is continuing.

The tower now stands at 52 metres, out of the total height of 65 metres. In the technical building, finishing works including installation of electrical conduits is continuing.

At the runway, laying of the base layer on which the black top paving is laid, continued to progress.
