The Times of India

Bangalore: Want to register in a matrimonial bureau and confused where to go? Head to the nearest BangaloreOne centre and register there. Or searching for a job and looking at placement companies? Bangalore-One is the answer. For flight and railway ticketing too, you can bank on BangaloreOne.
BangaloreOne will add to its kitty two exclusive services — registration for matrimonial bureau and job placements. A tie-up with related private portals will enable BangaloreOne to expand its services.
Assistant director of Bangalore-One directorate S B Sarangamath told The Times of India that within a month, new services will be added to the BangaloreOne centres. By March 15, more centres will be added to the existing 15.
The BangaloreOne centres will register for matrimony and will give a link up to the related agencies. The agencies will reach the applicant and give information on suitable bride/grooms. A service fee will be charged for it. Job placement service will also work the same way, explained Sarangamath.
This apart, the centres will book flight tickets, railway tickets, cinema tickets and enhanced RTO services.
Right now, the centre collects road tax and applications for renewal of learner’s licence on behalf of RTO and dispatches the renewed licences. Currently, of the services provided by the centre free of cost to the citizens, those receiving good response are: Bescom, BWSSB and BSNL payment of bills; collection of traffic fines for police department.
BangaloreOne started with just 30,000 transactions per month and it has now touched 3.6 lakh per month. The 15 centres register nearly 12,000 transactions per day.
The same concept has been replicated in the rural areas called Nemmadi and the first centre was opened in Ramanagaram by chief minister H D Kumaraswamy in October. The target of the directorate is to open 800 centres in all the hobli headquarters and currently 160 centres are up. Nemmadi centres provide services such as bill payments, issue land records, caste and income certificates, pension, mobile re-charge cards, ration cards and registration of birth and death.
