BANGALORE: Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Enterprise Limited (NICEL), the project developing company of Bangalore Mysore Infrastructure Corridor Project (BMICP) stoutly denied Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy's recent statement that NICEL had not submitted any alignment maps of the project.
NICEL chairman Ashok Kheny in his letter to the CM which made available to press said that, NICEL had submitted all alignment maps of the project including 65 drawings in May, 20,2004 it self. The alignment also includes all proposed roads, locations of the townships.
Even, Kheny said that, NICEL had deposited Rs.100.48 crores towards land compensation in Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board (KIADB). However the KIADB let alone giving utilisation statement, but also not utilised the fund for purpose, which meant for.
He said that in the pursuance of the Government order issued on January 24, 2001, directing the company to commence simultaneously the road works both from Bangalore side and Mysore side, NICE had been urging the Government to acquire and transfer the lands at Mysore end.
He said despite all these facts, officials misguiding the CM and requested him to transfer the lands to the project.
It may be noted that on Friday, NICEL failed to conduct ground breaking ceremony to start the road works at Mysore end as Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) refused to hand over around 14 acres of land to the project owing NICE had not given its money to the land.
However NICE said that it had deposited the money to KIADB which in turn has to give to MUDA.
Even the Chief Minister also said that the project developing company should submit alignment maps of road before seeking lands.
