City businessman plans air taxi service from seven locations

BBa an ngga al lo orree:: Always late to work because of the Citys perineal traffic jams? Then consider the option of zipping over the City using an air taxi service.

This option is being planned by City-based businessman G James to provide helicopter air taxi services to the business, IT, health and cargo sectors by setting up rooftop helipads and mini airports at seven different locations across Bangalore.

James, proprietor of G7 Helicopter Air Taxi Services, told VVi ij ja ay y TTi immees sthat he had prepared a blue print for the project as air traffic service was convincingly the future means of transport in a bustling city like Bangalore.

"Every nook and corner of the City is plagued with traffic jams and valuable time is lost due to these jams. Air taxi service by helicopters in cities is a successful concept in the West and it is a potential mode of transport here, " he said.

James has identified locations in Electronic City, ITPL, Devanahalli Airport, HAL Airport, Old Central Jail, Peenya and Bidadi Industrial Area to develop roof-top helipads and mini airports.

Each centre is planned to be developed on 25 acres of land near the IT/BT, BPO, or industrial areas and near the State legislature.

"Apart from rooftop helipads, mini airports with runways for mini aeroplanes (below 25 seats) could also be developed for the benefit of VIP passengers," he said.

Helicopters and mini aeroplanes can be used for various purposes, including transporting passengers, businessmen, office-goers and also significantly for ambulance, agriculture and cargo transport. He added that he was planning to execute this ambitious project along with the State government for which he was likely to meet Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy and civil aviation officials.
