The park at the Tata Silk Farm area in Basavanagudi will be named after late Komala Ramachandran, a freedom fighter and social worker. The BMP has submitted a report to the City Planning and Development Sthayi Samiti and the council meeting.

Komala was eligible to avail of pension, but she did not get it. She was also eligible to avail land from the government, which was not given to her until her death. Her sons requested the government to help them out.
