Bangalore: The State Cabinet in an emergency meeting on Tuesday night authorised the Chief Minister and his Deputy to take any step including bringing new legislation not only to decide the future course of Bangalore Mysore Infrastructure Corridor project, but all pending and ongoing projects in the State.
Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy and his deputy B S Yediyurappa will have a free hand in taking appropriate decisions like providing additional funds, necessary technical assistance and even bringing new legislation to speed up all pending projects to make the golden jubilee year of States formation a memorable one in terms of development.
Speaking to reporters after the meeting, HDK said the government was planning to bring a legislation in the next session of legislature for deciding the future course of BMIC project and denied reports of differences with coalition partner BJP in this regard. "We are united and speaking in one voice. The BMIC issue has been discussed without any rancour," he added.
Law and Parliamentary Affairs minister Basavaraj Horatti who briefed reporters earlier, said the decision covered all the pending and ongoing projects including irrigation and infrastructure.
The meeting was held in the backdrop of reports of government intending to take over the project being implemented by the Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Enterprise or making the company forego around 2,400 acres of land identified by the government as being in excess.
Giving details of his three-day visit to Dubai from June 8, the CM said he was scheduled to interact with entrepreneurs to attract investment to State.
