Prostitution on wheels’ in City
Prostitution on wheels’ in City
BANGALORE : It is a ‘mobile’ era. Mobile phones, mobile eateries and mobile prostitution too! Interestingly, the police are “not aware” of such mobile activity. But
Deccan Herald has managed togather details - like mobile numbers of pimps, their modus operandi - on the silently picking up “mo bile prostitution” racket in the City.
This new way of prostitution is proving to be a “better alternative”to the prostitution racket operat ing in houses, lodges, etc.
Earlier, prostitution racket was operated from lodges and houses in some “safe” localities of the City. But now these locations are no more hot favourites as they are considered as “risky places.” “Mobile prostitution”, run in four-wheelers, has proved a “better and safe alternative”. Modern sports utility vehicles are beingused to run this racket by estab lishing contact with the customers through mobile phones.
The customers just have to make a call on their mobile phone. Pimps will come to favourite eating joints along with four to five girls dressed in modern outfits, in a sports utility vehicle.
The driver-cum-pimp and the girls talk either in English or Hindiand become friendly with cus tomers within minutes.
Their behaviour will not give rise to any suspicion among passers-by.
This is the first stage and here the customer has to pay Rs 500, at least.
For what? For having shown thegirls and to meet the petrol ex pense. After paying the money, the customer can choose a girl.
At this stage the pimp will dis close the rate - a minimum of Rs 1,500 - for having sex with the girl of the customer’s choice.
Go for a drive!
Now the driver will ask other girls to get down from the vehicle and wait in the eating joint till hereturns. The vehicle (with the cus tomer and girl of choice on the back seat) will move towards the outskirts of the City.
Hosur Road, Bannerghatta Road, Mysore Road, Kanakapura Road, Tumkur Road are some of the regular routes.
Normally, the driver will choose the route closest to the customer’s pick-up.
After moving about 15-20 km away from the City, the vehicle takes a diversion to some deserted roads. The driver, after parking the vehicle in a safe place, demands full payment from the customer. The customer then gets instruc tions from the driver - “Switch offyour mobile. I will be waiting out side. You have one hour time.”
The driver, who does not enter tain any queries from the customer while going away from the City, will become friendly while return ing.
The driver-cum-pimp freely dis closes mobile numbers of otherpimps, besides informing the cus tomer that more than 20 vehicles are engaged in mobile prostitution in the City.
“We have more than 50 girls inour group,” he adds with a flour ish.
“Several college students, mod els, cine actors work with us. Just tell your choice, we will make the arrangement,” the driver says, while revealing that they get girls from different cities as they have multi-city contacts.
On reaching the eating joint where the other girls were made towait, the driver drops off the cus tomer and leaves with his band of girls bidding: “Bye. Have a nice day.”
But the police seem to have no clue about the existence of “mobile prostitution” racket in the City. As Joint Commissioner of Police M C Narayana Gowda puts it: “Police have no information on mobileprostitution racket. We will inves tigate the matter.”
