Traffic jam? Read reason

Traffic jam? Read reason
The Times of India

Bangalore: Caught in a traffic jam near a junction and perplexed over the reason for the trouble? Do not lose patience, you will be informed the reason for the jam through a digital display board which comes as an attachment with the traffic signal light located near any junction.

MG Road will soon have new synchronised traffic signal lights sponsored by Vijaya Bank, and these lights which will be installed between Trinity Circle and Mahatma Gandhi statue junction (also called Queen’s Circle), will have a display board. Message will scroll on this board when there is a traffic jam in that junction or any other neighbouring junction. Reason will be flashed.

A decision to install these lights, first of its kind in the city, was taken at a meeting chaired by Police Commissioner Ajai Kumar Singh early this week. Vijaya Bank has already placed an order with the public sector BEL for these lights and display boards at a cost of around Rs 40 lakh.

These display boards will help the road users to plan their journey with least problems, a police officer explained. The city police had assured to install such signal system during the Times Round Table in September.
